The large threshing area – la Calade – has been the heart of the farm for centuries. Donkeys pulled around heavy stone rollers over the wheat and rye harvests and the wind blew off the chaff. The pavement survives today as a giant sundial.
And now it has its pointer – la Spiga – a creation of Lutfi Romhein, a well-known artist in the Middle East for his monumental sculpture who moved form Bagdad to Provence.
La Spiga, a 6 meter elegant wheat leaf, combines tradition and hope, shadow and light.
