Another interesting day trip in the Arles area – the Carrières de Lumières. It is a vast underground stone quarry that was closed 80 years ago because it could not keep up with steel and concrete as building materials.
It revives now as a giant show room for a full immersion in art and music.
We managed to catch the last days of the Van Gogh show. It was amazing!
Next March a new cycle will feature “Dali, the endless enigma” with a bonus about Gaudi.
When you go there you also discover a different Provence, dry and rocky. Only 90 minutes from our place.
